Introduction

Founded in 1866 in Switzerland, where it is still based (with headquarters in Vevey), Nestlé has often been called ‘the multinational among multinationals’. Only about 1.5% of sales are generated in Nestlé’s home country, and all but ten of its factories are situated abroad. The company CEO is Paul Bulcke, and the general management is composed of 13 members from 12 different nationalities. Nestlé has a total of 280 000 employees in 81 countries.
