Introduction
Siemens specialises in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering. However, it has also extended into the mechatronics, civil engineering and mechanics, becoming a market leader in the majority of the sectors where it operates. The company’s 150 year heritage in South Africa is a great source of pride for its employees. In 2011, talent development is a key priority at Siemens, with work force planning and people investment remaining key.
‘Making an impact’

‘I am responsible for all business administration within my project team with the assistance of a Senior Business Administrator and a trainee. We are currently executing 39 projects with an order on hand value of R600 million for Transnet & Sasol. My functions include financial control and administration, bid management, project reporting, asset management, commercial contract management, mentoring and coaching. ‘There are so many things I love about working here – the different functions I perform as part of my job, the job security, the endless opportunities for training and learning, not to mention global career opportunities. We have a great team of employees and I have the opportunity to make a real impact on the company. In addition, I really like Siemens’ aggressive environmental programme.’
